knowledge is potential power
Charlie “Tremendous” Jones once said that “You are the same today as you’ll be in five years except for two things: the books you read and the people you meet.” I submit that the same applies to our walk with Christ. Over the next five years, our growth – our ability to live a life that truly reflects and honors God – will be exactly what it is today except for the books we read and the people we meet.
http://cutthefatpodcast.com is a new podcast i'm listening too and I'm searching for more. I'm going to start looking into other audio books. I drive so much that it's an effective use of my time. I take the parts that work for me and use them.
http://www.fat2fitradio.com is my original podcast I listened to and I bought the book and the first 20 episodes. They have over 90 hours of podcast material. Enough to get you started. One of the hosts is sick so they're taking some time off but it took me over 1 month to listen to and catch up on their programs and I plan on going through them again in a few months to catch things I might have missed the first time.
http://www.burnthefat.com/index1.html is a great book to start with. Much of fat2fit radio is based on these principles.
There are many more, but I can't think of them. The whole point for me is to try something new and measure the success. If it works I'll keep using it, if it doesn't, for me, I change it or get rid of it. I've mastered poor eating habits over the last few decades and now i'm practicing healthier choices that will take me though my remaining decades.
With the knowledge and good habits i'm forming when I do " fall off the wagon" I'm not falling flat on my back waiting for the next wagon to come, i'm jogging next to it with one hand on the cart and am able to jump right back on after a very short trip. Funny thing about that wagon is I've never seen a ice cream stand near the darn things.
Read, listen to podcasts and when you have some new info pass it on. Write a blog and learn. I'm trying to become an "expert" on my weight loss. I will always be open to change and tweaking of what is working for me. I need lots of information and I am learning to listen to my body. When I weight lift i fallow a chart and always try to get one more rep in until I hit 12 then up my weight a bit. But i then spend the next few days listening to my body. Did I hit the right muscle groups? Did I help myself grow? You get the idea. Eating Lentils is my newest food for protein, but watching how much brown rice I'm consuming because of the high carbs it contains. good complex carbs but still I was eating way to much at one sitting.
I keep changing and testing. That's a key for me. As I get less fat I need to do even more tweaking. I'm just about 26 fat pounds from goal...I have to stop and think about that one. I don't think I've ever been able to say that before.
I'm babbling again, sorry. I do that often. But I write like I speak, just ask my friends. http://cutthefatpodcast.com is a new podcast i'm listening too and I'm searching for more.
