202.8 OMAD daily. My rant.

OMAD most days. Slow and steady wins the race. Spending lots of time on the IFL site on facebook. Intermittent Fasting Lifestyle. I'm tired of some of the new members asking their new questions "Will this break my fast." Clean vs Dirty fasting. Keto vs palio vs ....    I am a Keep It Simple Stupid person. This isn't a religion. Don't eat except once daily. Eat enough to be full but less then your body will need for the day and over weeks, months, years you will become the person you are trying to be. Nothing quick. 19 months and almost 100 pounds down. No fancy exersize. Just some walking. You can't out exersize your poor diet. If you eat more then you need you will gain weight, Food has it's place but it is not my best friend. I don't eat my feelings and I don't eat because I deserve it. I'm not a damn dog!!        I don't restrict foods but I do allow myself to enjoy things, when I plan. I plan my meals my gluttony doesn't. It'...

212 pounds. Most of this is a mind game.

The best diet is not always the diet which is the best diet physically, but it's the diet that you can turn into a lifestyle, that allows you to lose fat and keep it off because you learn how to incorporate all foods in healthy moderation.    Dr. Layne Norton. I currently do OMAD 5-6 days a week with 16/8, 2mad (2 meals daily). I eat anything I want but mostly what the wife cooks, healthier foods. Overload! Rice is good, it's bad. Fat is good, it's bad....you see the 15 second tv news stories all the time. I've figured out, being a middle aged man, that I'm gonna do what i want to do, not what anyone says is the "best" thing for me. I'm down from 296 to 212. I took a few months break where I stayed between 216-221 pounds. Holidays happened, wife had a surgery and I went on vacation to Florida. Now I'm back in weight loss mode. I am currently using the OMAD approach. This isn't magical it's a way to limit my calorie intake to 1 meal 6 da...

Been awhile 216 pounds, Ready to start going lower, again.

Did I mention this is a lifelong battle? Had a great past few months. Starting with Thanksgiving, Christmas, a Florida vacation and living life. Wife had a back surgery and I was off work on FMLA for several weeks. I'm 216 pounds. I've been maintaining at around 220's. I was up to 230 for a very short while (water gain) after the vacation week.         I've been on 2mad for awhile. Eating my primary meal at noon and something when I get home around 10:30pm. I'm trying to keep my 2nd eating time just a snack or nothing but OMAD is a bit of a struggle and I'm all about doing things I can do to keep my weight off. Maintenance is just as important as losing weight. But now I'm ready for another push.      To get from maintenance to under 200. 196 is my next goal. That will be 100 pounds since January of 2018. I'm in an xl shirt and a 40 waisted pant. My fat % is 31.5. Still considered OBESE till I am 29.9%. I'm excited that even in the last few months...

REPOST FROM LAST WEEK AND THIS WEEK.

sorry, not sure who reads this, but I started doing a new facebook group and haven't kept up on this blog as much as I should.  https://www.facebook.com/groups/sixmilestosupper/?ref=bookmarks six miles to supper is on facebook and it's a pretty diverse group. The founder has written a book and what I like most is it's a pretty free spirited group of people. I'm not much into being told what to do and I know what works for me. Here are my two latest posts and another link to her youtube videos.     215 pounds. I lost .4 pounds on Thanksgiving week!! 215 pounds. On the road to my final goals. 81 pounds down since January.  I'm in the 4th mini-goal of 25 pounds. From 221-196. From there I plan on going in 10 pound goals till I am happy with my mirror. I'm around 30% fat and 215 pounds. I've been doing one meal at noon and a snack most nights (I guess it's called 2mad.) I'm trying to increase my primary meal and do away with the...

As a rule of thumb, weight loss is generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise. I might walk 5+ miles a day but I need to work on cardio and weight resistance training. I have friends that work out like monsters but drink like little fish on the weekend. No different then when I do well 5 days a week and had "Ben and Jerry" weekends. The picture below is my screensaver on my phone. I made it to remind myself of the OMAD (One Meal A Day) approach i'm striving for. Really isn't that had, most days.

maintaining weight lost while loosing more. A new concept I'm doing.

I'm happy where I am...for now. I am working on loosing more than 40 pounds but I have stumbled upon something missing from most "diets." I need to practice maintenance now. It's like my mindset. 90% of how my weight loss goes is how I mentally handle it. It's allowing myself "cheat meals". I had a party to go to the other weekend and I let myself go. Not like I used to but I still tasted EVERYTHING.      It's like driving a car without my instructor with  me and realizing  I need to practice driving on my own. 95% of all diets fail because of weight loss ending and not learning how to keep it off. Not doing much different than in my "diet" mode, but I am practicing getting my mind around the fact that I am still fat, but not as big as I was before.  I plan on uploading pictures I've taken of the last months OMAD meals. Don't starve. I've lost around 60 pounds over the last 7 months and i'm ok if it takes longer to loose th...
