OMG, I'm DOING IT!
So exciting to be at the thinnest weight I've ever seen in 16 years, since I met my wife, Karen. I had gotten to "dating weight", nabbed a girl and the lion was no longer on the hunt, sooooo...... I got Fat Happy and Stupid.
Now i'm doing it slow and steady. Over the last 29 months I've had 3 stops and starts where I didn't loose but actually gained weight, but it was over months. I think that helped when I started weight lifting to get my muscle up. Now i'm working on maintaining my muscle mass while loosing the final 38+ pounds of FAT.
Just want to see what a thin me looks like. I've never been below 203 pounds as an adult. I hit 203 when I was 18 and tried to get into the Marines. So exciting. I"m happy I choose this as my midlife crisis. The life style change is responsible for the slow fat loss and for my ability to keep it off. It's kinda like driving my semi truck. You can drive it after a few weeks of training, but if you don't fallow some professional driving style most of the time it's just a matter of time before you have a crash.
Crash diets are that way. I've had many people tell me about their diets and then months later they don't mention it. Quickly loosing the fat and by months later it's back. 10 years from now, i am looking forward to having been at a slim healthy weight for over 8-9 years. Some of my poor friends may still be doing the yo-yo thing. One of my bigger male friends even tried rice cakes....uuggghhhh! He's also the one that when I mentioned eating a 300 calorie turkey sandwich instead of a cheeseburger he poo-pooed that. I tried explaining that the extra 300 calories isn't much for one day, but do that every day or week and that could be pounds of fat gained.
It's the little changes that make a difference. Another friend sounded amazed when I talked about cereal being a junk food. I"m sure he was thinking " but it tastes so good and is filled with vitimans and minerals" :)
Lance is playing a commerical on their sandwich crackers. it has peanut butter in it, so it's healthy. BULLPOOPY! It's proccesed crap! Better then a bowl of ice cream, but not by much.
BTW: dear Ben and Jerry. Please stop sending " We miss you" cards, I"m not biting :)
I allow myself cake and ice cream for birthday parties and holidays, but that's enough. That's 1-2 times some months and it's not gonna be huge amounts. That's not how thin people live. Not that guy you hate ( I do, too). You know, the one that can eat all he wants and never gains much. Enough babbling for now. Time to go to work. Last day till the weekend!!
